FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Lessons

  • Q: Do I need a drum set to start lessons?
  • A: That depends! If you are planning on having in-home lessons, then yes, you will need a drum set. However, if you are taking lessons in our studio, a drum set is provided for you.
  • Q: How often will I need to have lessons?
  • A: The frequency of lessons depends on your personal goals. Students who take lessons twice a week have shown extraordinary improvement at the end of the year compared to students who take lessons once a week. However, most students take lessons at least once a week to maintain progress and stay motivated.
  • Q: Do you offer group lessons?
  • A: Yes, we offer two types of group lessons:
  • Drum circles: These fun and interactive classes have a maximum of 10 students and focus on rhythm, ensemble playing, and cultural exploration.
  • Drum set groups: These small group classes have no more than 2 students, allowing for personalized attention, peer learning, and the opportunity to share ideas.
  • Q: What do I need on my first day of drum lessons?
  • A: Just bring your drumsticks!
  • For ages 6 and under, you'll need a pair of Vic Firth Kids drum sticks.
  • For ages 7 and up, we recommend 5A's from Promark, Vic Firth, or Vater. You can also purchase other brands depending on your preference.
  • Keep in mind that the number on drumsticks refers to the size or thickness (with smaller numbers being thicker), and the letter refers to the weight (A's are lighter and B's are heavier, mostly used for rock drumming).

Logistics

  • Q: Is parking free?

  • Q: How is payment collected?
  • A: Payments are collected before the start of each month. We offer convenient online payment options to make the process easy and secure.
